Iphi 来到中国一座大城市,想用努力换取“更好的未来”,但高昂的房租和生活成本让持续收入变成生存底线:一旦失去工作,生活就会立刻断供。进入公司成为新人后,她的日常被模板、会议纪要、跨部门跟进和行动项清单填满,职场节奏强调配合与效率,加班也常常以“默认规则”的方式存在。老板 Janus 会在她的产出能为公司带来收益时保持礼貌,却不断用优先级、deadline 和绩效话术把她的个人边界往里推。回到家后,Iphi 试图假装生活没有被工作侵蚀:角落里的电吉他、桌上的乐队合照、干净整齐的小吧台仍然存在;但压力并不会随着下班结束,它会换一种形式跟她回家,并在梦境中把爱好、健康与自尊变成必须面对的 Boss。
Iphi arrives in a major Chinese city hoping that hard work will lead to a better future, but high rent and living costs turn uninterrupted income into the baseline of survival: if she loses her job, her life immediately loses support. After joining a company as a newcomer, her days are filled with templates, meeting minutes, cross-department follow-ups, and action-item lists; the workplace values cooperation and efficiency, while overtime quietly becomes an unspoken rule. Her boss, Janus, remains polite when her output benefits the company, yet he keeps pushing her personal boundaries inward through priorities, deadlines, and performance language. Back home, Iphi tries to pretend that work has not eroded her life—the electric guitar in the corner, the band photo on the desk, and the tidy little bar counter are still there—but pressure does not end when the workday does. It follows her home in another form. In her dreams, her hobbies, health, and self-esteem become bosses she must eventually face.

When the damage caused by work reaches a certain threshold, dreams transform into symbolic spaces. In these spaces, hobbies, health, and self-esteem appear as bosses. They should have been Iphi’s friends, but every act of overtime, compromise, and silence pushes them further away until they return through conflict.
通过对话、调查(读取空间与物件线索)、战斗(面对反扑的自己),游戏最终让玩家衡量一个问题:你是在为未来积累选择权,还是在燃烧自己,只为买一张继续留在城市的入场券?
Through dialogue, investigation—reading clues from spaces and objects—and combat against the parts of the self that strike back, the game asks one central question: are you building future choices, or burning yourself just to buy another ticket to remain in the city?
名字隐喻:Iphi 是 Iphigenia 的简称。希腊神话中,Iphigenia 为了让船队顺利出征而被献祭,意为“被献祭的人 / 以代价换取出航”。
Name metaphor: Iphi is short for Iphigenia. In Greek mythology, Iphigenia is often remembered as the one sacrificed so the fleet could depart, suggesting a person offered up in exchange for departure and progress.
她性格胆小,面对不公平待遇也不敢说“不”,而且非常宽容。出于对更好职业前景的期望,伊菲搬到中国的大城市,却被高昂生活成本迫使在留下与牺牲个人生活之间做选择。
She is timid, highly tolerant, and finds it difficult to say “no” even when treated unfairly. Hoping for better career prospects, she moves to a major Chinese city, only to be forced by living costs to choose between staying and sacrificing her personal life.

She is Iphi’s imaginary friend and the embodiment of Iphi’s pragmatic subconscious. Iphi relies on her deeply, and she has helped Iphi make many decisions. She believes Iphi’s future prospects matter more than the sacrifices being made now.
Dion 是 Dionysus 的缩写,象征酒神、狂欢与出神状态。Lock 有“锁”的含义,也与 Rock 谐音,指向她的外观与音乐意象。
Dion is short for Dionysus, the symbol of wine, revelry, and ecstatic release. Lock suggests a lock in appearance and also echoes “rock,” pointing toward music and rebellion.
他们代表伊菲的爱好:优雅克制的调酒师 Dion,象征一杯酒带来的片刻宁静;被锁链束缚、身上布满尖刺的摇滚音乐家 Lock,象征音乐、激情与叛逆。当伊菲为了租金和生存压制他们时,爱好会以 Boss 的形式反击。
They represent Iphi’s hobbies: Dion, the elegant and restrained bartender, symbolizes the brief calm of a drink and social relaxation; Lock, the chained and spiked rock musician, symbolizes music, passion, and rebellion. When Iphi suppresses them for rent and survival, her hobbies strike back as a boss.

Name metaphor: Hygieia is associated with health, care, and hygiene, and is one source of the English word “hygiene.” Gia embodies Iphi’s physical condition.
Gia 活泼开朗。她并不反对伊菲为了租金和生存而工作,但坚决反对把睡眠、食物、水和休息当作可以无限推迟的消耗品。她希望伊菲明白,身体不是可以随意替换的一部分。
Gia is lively and cheerful. She does not oppose Iphi working to survive, but she strongly rejects treating sleep, food, water, and rest as endlessly postponable consumables. She wants Iphi to understand that the body is not a replaceable part.
神话/古典关系:Areté 来自古希腊思想语境,意指“卓越、德性、值得”。游戏中用 Reta 作为现代化简称。
Classical reference: Areté comes from ancient Greek thought and refers to excellence, virtue, and worth. In the game, Reta is used as a modern shortened form.

She embodies Iphi’s self-esteem. She refuses to submit to anything she sees as wrong, and cannot understand why Iphi compromises for work while giving up hobbies and health. Her anger comes from disappointment: Iphi is losing the life that once belonged to her.

Name metaphor: Janus is the Roman god of doors, thresholds, entrances, exits, and turning points.

He is Iphi’s direct department supervisor: decent, cold, serious, and results-driven. As long as employees invest large amounts of energy, remain constantly available, and produce value for the company, he stays polite and may even offer praise.
然而,他习惯用目标、优先事项、截止日期、绩效评估与年终奖金等隐性手段推动工作,逐渐把“自愿额外付出”变成无需明说的默认做法。
However, he uses goals, priorities, deadlines, performance reviews, and year-end bonuses as implicit tools of pressure, gradually turning “voluntary extra effort” into an unspoken default.

这款游戏的创作出发点来自一种很常见的现实处境:许多人为了更好的发展前景来到中国的大城市,但高昂的房租与生活成本让“收入不断”变成底线。一旦失去工作,生活很快就会断供,于是人被迫进入一种持续紧绷的状态——加班、随时在线、把休息推迟,把生活压缩到只剩“能继续工作”。在这种结构性压力下,妥协往往不是因为不努力,而是因为没有退路;很多选择看起来是个人决定,但背后其实是城市成本、就业竞争与绩效文化共同作用的结果。我们希望把这种难以说清的体验变成可以被玩家亲自感受到的过程:不是用说教去评价“该不该拼”,而是让玩家在对话、调查与战斗中反复衡量代价。游戏把爱好、健康与自尊设定为主角潜意识里本应是“朋友”的部分,却在长期压抑与透支后,以 Boss 的形式反扑回来——它们不是反派,而是提醒你:当你用短期稳定换取长期透支,代价会以更直接的方式回到身上。
This game begins from a common real-life situation: many people come to major Chinese cities for better development prospects, but high rent and living costs make uninterrupted income the baseline of survival. Once work is lost, life quickly loses support, forcing people into constant tension—working overtime, staying always online, postponing rest, and compressing life until only “being able to keep working” remains. Under this structural pressure, compromise often does not come from a lack of effort, but from having no way out; many choices may look personal, yet behind them are the combined forces of urban costs, job competition, and performance culture. We want to turn this hard-to-explain experience into something players can personally feel. Rather than preaching about whether one “should work hard,” the game asks players to repeatedly weigh the cost through dialogue, investigation, and combat. Hobbies, health, and self-esteem are presented as parts of the protagonist’s subconscious that should have been “friends,” but after long-term repression and depletion, they strike back as bosses. They are not villains; they are reminders that when short-term stability is purchased through long-term burnout, the cost will eventually return in a more direct form.
